Every counselor, both aspiring and advanced, should have a clinical supervisor relationship. Clinical supervisors provide ongoing training, development, oversight, and evaluation of counselors. In addition, they perform the roles of teacher, consultant, and gatekeeper in the CES profession.

Educational Training, Credentials, and Affiliations

  • Over 15 years of mental health experience

  • Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor-Associate (LCMHC-A) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCAS-A) for 5 years

  • Master’s degree in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling from Walden University

  • National Certified Counselor (NCC)

  • Graduate Certificate in Family Life Education and Coaching from North Carolina State University

  • Certifications as a Field Traumatologist, Compassion Fatigue Therapist, and Level 1 EMDR therapist from the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology

  • Active membership in professional organizations like the American Counseling Association (ACA) and American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA)

Supervision Philosophy & Theory

My supervisory theory and model are deeply influenced by the Integrative Developmental Model for Narrative Supervision (IDMNS), which integrates narrative therapy theory into the supervision process. IDMNS emphasizes multicultural awareness, collaborative learning, and a positive supervisory relationship, fostering a safe and inclusive space for reflective exploration and professional growth.
